D/I = Determined + Inspiring
From LifeLift Assessment A = The DISC Profile
Outward, prefers projects but can work with people
Primary D / Secondary I people (read: red / blue) are driven AND inspiring. They know how to get things done (they focus on projects), and they work well with people.
Don’t misunderstand— they focus MORE on the project than the people around them, for sure. They like to read goals, so they’re more determined than they are inspirational.
But, they exhibit a relational sensitivity that connects well with others, causing them to make quite an impact.
They have many interests and can often become distracted by taking on too much. As such, they need to pause, focus, prioritize, and then move forward.
They thrive on activity and movement, so this can be a challenge.
Let’s summarize:
- These extroverts work well with both projects and people
- They set high standards and help others make an impact
- They often have multiple interests, and juggle a lot (this can be a weakness, however, because they can lose focus)
- Another weakness = they can become steam-rollers, plowing over people in order to get things done
- Must work on slowing down to do the “deep work” of the soul
Biblical example
Joshua (see the Book of Joshua), was determined to take the Children of Israel into the Promised Land (D). He stood against the nay-sayers who claimed they could not overcome the giants in the land (see Numbers 13-14). In time, 40 years later, he successfully led the next generation into their inheritance.
