Exhortation = awaken hope & courage

Day 4 = The sun, the moon, the stars

On Day 4, God called forth the sun, the moon, and the stars (1:14-19).  We read that everything in the Heavens was created by Him and continually declares His glory (Psalm 19:1). Some people have an incredible ability to call forth the glory of God in people, so that they shine like stars in the universe (see Philippians 2:15).

People with this design proactively encourage others in such a way that they call forth the glory that resides in each of us.

In Christian circles, we often focus on the “negative” side of accountability (i.e., making sure people don’t do the things they aren’t supposed to do— things they should stay away from). However, there's more...

True encouragers walk with a worldview that causes them to call forth the destiny of people by, naturally,  encouraging them to be the person they’re designed to be (the positive side of accountability). They bring hope alive!

Exhortation in action

Barnabas was our example of an IS personality type (blue-yellow). Another exhorter might be Mordecai, the uncle who encouraged Esther (our CS, green-yellow) example to step forward.

Again, sometimes, we see the gift in action (as was the case when Barnabas gave a field to the early church in Acts 4, something Ananias and Saphira quickly mimicked and faked in the next chapter of Acts), and sometimes we see the effect of the gift (as in the case of Mordecai— when he used his gift to empower another person to step into their calling / identity).
