I/C = Inspiring + Cautious

From LifeLift Assessment A = The DISC Profile

I/C (blue / green) are often inspiring yet cautious assessors who are excellent communicators. They have a unique  combination of concerned awareness and appreciation of people.

They excel in determining ways to improve production, increase capacity, and move everyone forward.

But… they tend to be impatient and critical, and they can also be overly persuasive and too consumed by the desire to win.

As it relates to people, they are outgoing.

But, as it concerns projects and work opportunities, ICs like to work inside the box.

They could benefit from trying new things and caring less about what others think.

This personality type often possesses a gift for teaching (as did Ezra, in our Biblical example below); they are generally dependable when it comes to paying attention to details and getting the job done.

Let’s summarize:

  • Inspiring and cautious, I/C exhibits excellent capacity to connect with others while also assessing a situation
  • They CAN be impatient and like to work “inside the box”
  • Highly dependable, especially when it comes to paying attention to detail and delivering results

Biblical example

Ezra (see the Book of Ezra), who rebuilt the temple and reintroduced the Law to the Children of Israel after they returned to the Promised Land after exile. He was needed to rally the people together (I) and set a system of rules and regulations in order (C), whereby people could return to their roots and live together.

If we read the entirety of his story, we do see he was overly rigid in some areas, however. This does not negate the great service he provided— it just shows the need to be aware of both the “super-power” that each personality-type has AS WELL as the potential pitfalls.
