Blog: Top 7 = finished #75Hard + Beth's birthday +++

top 7 Sep 06, 2021

The pic above = tow days after completing 75 hard…

On my first day “off” the challenge (Saturday), I woke up, felt great, and went on a long run throughout the neighborhood— and a few nearby neighorhoods…

The following day (Sunday), I went for a 50 mile bike ride. That me, upon return, trying to catch my breathe from the final hill which meanders up Buttewoods Drive and leads to the #Hilltop.

Here’s the top 7 from last week…

Fitness = Finished #75Hard

Friday, September 3rd, I completed the 75 day challenge. Since I’ve written about it extensively on this site, I’ll spare you the details.

Here are the two talks covering the lessons learned…

* First talk = https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/lifelift/episodes/2147587661
* Second talk = https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/lifelift/episodes/2147587660

Finance = Beth over-hauled the books + automated them

Beth has a unique (and diverse) skillset. She’s worked in marketing, online / digital sales, network marketing, photography… a few more things… and accounting.

This past week, she finished taking the conglomeration of receipts and bills and checks and cash and every other thing and tossing it into a new Quickbooks system… complete with digital receipt tracking, automation, and more…

🚌

Family = Wednesday date night, birthday, etc.

For the past few months, we’ve been busy launching a new project. And, we’ve got another one on the way.

Suffice to say, a lot of things have gone “undone.” And other things have gotten skipped over or pushed to the side.

One of those things = date night.

Wednesday, we got back on track. Every Wednesday, no matter how busy things are— and regardless of what has a deadline— we’re going out…

🚌

Field = the app project or the Oola presentation?

I couldn’t decide which was “tops” for last week, we I’ve made two entries here…

👉 First, I’ve been working on an app— something to take a stack of my online courses, the (getting updated as we speak) podcast, audiobooks, and more— to host my stuff…

I’ll still have the website…

… but, with the app, you’ll be able to watch / listen / etc. from your phone, tablet, computer, TELEVISION, and more…

I’ve got the designer finishing the final logo mockups, and I”m shooting a few videos this Tuesday to go in the app… then I’ll submit…

Be on the lookout…

I need a few— OK, more than a few— beta-testers. I’ll unlock EVERYTHING on there, permanently, for anyone willing to test drive it…

👉 Second, this past Thursday I shared the new Oola (digital) Design My Life Blueprint on the Oola channels…

Want to watch the presentation? DM / PM me and I’ll get you access to the replay…

(BTW, this week I’ll present the comp plan in the Real World Suite in Vegas. Filmed before a live “studio” audience, the presentation will be shared at the first Oola Summit on September 18th…)

🚌

Faith = I’ll write more about this later…

Suffice to say, I think I’m starting to get into my groove and find my voice in the writing, the faith matrix of what I believe and how to articulate it, etc…

🚌

Friends = coffee with Alan

I ran into a guy a few weeks ago at the nearby (newly opened) O’Henry’s. Started speaking, b/c the guy was reading a book I quoted a few times in Advance— a book by Dan Miller, 48 Days to the Work You Love.

The convo— and then a meetup a week later— are a reminder to me that there are amazing people everywhere. In our hustle, we often miss seeing the gifts of God that stand— or sit reading— right before us.

🚌

Fun = Salter prepped us for Beth’s birthday

Beth completed another loop around the sun this Saturday, so Salter and I headed out on the #SaturdaySneakOut to grab her a few things…

* A cake = more for the kids than for her (she doesn’t eat a lot of sweets)
* Party plates and cups = see the above
* Wine = choose it by the label (cooler + clever = best)
* An orchid = her fav flower
* Chocolate peanut butter cups form Trader Joe’s = her other fav, and— hands down— are better than Reese’s
* A few other things Salter insisted “she” needed = gummies, seltzer water (his favorite flavor, peach, of course), hummus, candy…

I’ll write more about her— and the past few years— soon. Really, it deserves its own post, not just 1/7 of the slot in a regular weekly routine…

🚌

That’s the highlight reel for last week. As always, I record 3 things a day I’m thankful for in the Advance Planner, when I do my daily review. Then, I look back as I end one week and prep for the next, pulling the best stuff together to pause + reflect + take it all in…
