Blog: Top 7= built two desks + a ceiling + all in on the #1B7 movement

top 7 Apr 19, 2021

The top 7 for last week…

(Every week I grab a "big thing"-- in my world, anyway-- from one of the 7 key areas of life-- Fitness, Finance, Family, Faith, Field, Fun, Friends-- and post a week recap here.)

This week, a few things came full circle. And, some new opportunities presented themselves. Plus, I decided (in the area of fitness, in this example) that the old and proven methods are often better than the new and innovative....

๐ŸšŒ Fitness = Made the decision this week…

Insanity it is.

Just finished a run at it in March, took a few weeks ago “free style” the exercise regimen. Going back in it with this one.

Insanity is an “older” program by Beachbody.

But… and this is important…

It gets results. A lot of people seem to always search for the newest and latest and greatest and biggest and baddest and whateverest.

Sometimes, you just need to go back to something you KNOW works.

(Side note: one of my favorite sayings from the Advance material = Success is more like a recipe than a lottery ticket. That means it’s a proven process. You can do it, I can do it, we can all do it and get similar results.)

๐ŸšŒ Finance = Made a few shifts this week that I never saw coming just a few weeks ago…

Now, all in on the #1B7 movement, a project designed to help positively impact the lives of 1 BILLION people in the next 7 years.

๐ŸšŒ Family = This week I did a few projects around the house…

๐Ÿ‘‰ Anna drove me to SouthEastern Salvage where I grabbed some butcher block to outfit the office… and made a new desk.

(Pic of the new desk is below, under the “Fun” heading.)

๐Ÿ‘‰ I then moved the previous desks to the tiny house— which now ALSO has a lookout towards the yard, where you can work AND enjoy a view…

Then…

๐Ÿ‘‰ Levi and I installed a ceiling in his room (downstairs in the #TiinyHouse was rafters only, painted, but he wanted a ceiling…)

So…

“You build it, and I’ll help,” I told him.

He was up for it.

Made him hang the insulation, run the saw, etc…

This was some of the fruit of building the entire tiny house ourselves last year, during the Covid / quarantine season…

Before that, home renovation— and building— was somewhat of a “strange space” for the kids. But, I believe that them seeing me go out, toss rafters, hang joists, maneuver siding, run wire, etc…

… I think all of that took the mystery out of big projects.

Now, they’re common place.

Anybody can do them.

Pic here = Levi running the saw.

๐ŸšŒ Field = A few updates here. Can’t decide on which one is my fav, so, I’ll just list them…

๐Ÿ‘‰ I finished the edits on the Soul Wholeness video course last week. This week, I pulled some of the clips for blog posts on my website (31 of them to be precise).

๐Ÿ‘‰ Pulled some clips from the Advance Planner Workshop also… those will post to the site beginning this week (13 clips = 13 more posts).

๐Ÿ‘‰ Beth and I started going live in our #Hilltop Hangout group. Would love for you to join us there: www.Facebook.com/groups/AndrewEJenkins

๐ŸšŒ Faith = This one’s huge.

A few years ago I was… well… politely “dismissed” from a workshop / conference I helped launched. One of the leaders in the inner circle felt I was unqualified to lead after I was served divorce papers…

It was gut-wrenching (to say the least) and showed me how that one issue— even when someone fights adamantly FOR the marriage— can still be labeled by the church afterwards, even when they’re the “left” rather than the “leaver.”

Anyway, I donated some of the remaining books to a thrift store…

Never thought about them again.

Until this week.

A guy FROM AFRICA found my book in a thrift store where I GREW UP and read it…

Then, since I wasn’t leading the events anymore, I set all of the courses on the event page to FREE. Anyone— including you— can stream them at no charge (go to www.EatSleepAdvance.com). My thought was, “Hey, it was a great run… no sense in hiding the material. It was great stuff. Let others use it…”

The guy from Africa proceeded to watch the entire event…

… and then he connected to my website, my social media links, my Facebook group, and then set a 22-minute Zoom consult.

Turns out, he’s a life coach…

… and wants to write a book that picks up where the Advance book leaves off (and applies it to personality profiles, etc.).

… and, he’s joined the #1B7 movement as a team member.

Talk about coming full circle!

(And, yes, things continuing to work for the good… a la Romans 8:28.)

๐ŸšŒ Friends = This one’s great— because the friend and field arena collided this week…

I recorded MORE content for the podcast this week. I had a few guys over, and we knocked out three episodes.

This will be part of #TheCoachesSeries, and will begin releasing NEXT Monday…

๐ŸšŒ Fun = I built a desk. And it looks like this…

๏ฟผThe photo doesn’t do it justice…

It’s 14 feet wide, 3 feet deep…

(Those are two huge computer screens on the far corners = this is where I generally work + write + record. And, yes, Beth and I work from matching gaming chairs!)

And…

Here’s how I keep up with all of the stuff…

At the end of each day in the Advance planner, there’s a daily review— space to answer a few questions, reflect on a few things, etc…

(You can download a free copy at www.Jenkins.tv/AP)

Each evening, in about 3-5 minutes, I jot—

โญ๏ธ 3 things I’m thankful for— about that day

โญ๏ธ Something I could have improved

โญ๏ธ Anything I didn’t complete that day which needs to be pushed to tomorrow

โญ๏ธ Some notes about where I added value that day…

It’s the perfect balance between journaling (which I hate, even though I write) and NOT doing anything…

... and it's free at www.Jenkins.tv/AP
