That leads us to a encounter from his childhood when he stole a handful of Jolly Ranchers, felt he’d gotten “left behind” in the rapture because of his disobedience, and then met grace…

… something that’s always scandalous— even to the religious and upright.

In this episode, Lance and I talk about the fact that, as Hebrews 12:2 says, Jesus is the Author and Perfecter of our faith. That is, He is writing our story.

And, as Paul suggested in Ephesians 2:8-10, He’s completing a story He fore-ordained centuries— even millennia— ago. That means He’s not simply “doing the best He can” with what’s left on the scrap pile after you’ve made a mess of things. He’s literally working things together for your growth— and for your good.

Furthermore, as odd as it sounds, you can’t out-strip the grip of grace NOR out-flank His ability to do something powerful in your life.
