Grace empowers you to out-perform what you can do on your own

identity lifelift video Nov 27, 2023

It looks like Jesus, yet it also looks like you. It looks like you, but it also looks like Him.

When we do something, it’s as if He does it.

That is, we become His vehicle of supernatural expression (1 Peter 4:11 NKJV, emphasis added):

If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

When we share the message of grace, God Himself pleads through us, calling others to Him (2 Corinthians 5:19-20 NKJV, emphasis mine):

…God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

That is, in the same way Jesus displayed the Father through His works and His word (His ministry and His message), so also do we.

This is why Paul concluded that “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21 NKJV). In Paul’s mind, if he was alive he wasn’t just talking about Jesus or doing things Jesus would do; literally, Jesus lived through Paul.

Using our personality, our life-experiences, and who He made us to be, Jesus works through us…

The result is Divine partnership at a high-level of intimacy.

Paul recounts his experience of this in 1 Corinthians 15:10. He writes (NKJV, emphasis added),

By the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Notice, Paul worked hard. Yet it was not Paul working. Christ worked through Him.

2 Corinthians 4:10 says we are  always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body” (emphasis added NKJV).  There's never a moment when we cease carrying His life in us.
